In 2017, Ends Cycling hosted our South Dakota Bike Ride #SDBR2017 for the youth of Guinea Bissau, Africa. Every year since, funds from the SDBR2017 have been used to host a 3-month Bible Training School, at the Mansoa Bible Training Center, training the next generation of leaders and Pastors. Here are some recent stories from 2021 that have come out of the field. To God be the Glory!
June 2021

There was a reunion organized by Lalas, for former students to come and be encouraged, as they testified, and to worship together and fellowship together. About 55 former students showed up! This was made possible by [individual] donors [outside of SDBR2017] who gave financially.

We were able to provide the finances for their transport (about $5 a student) coming from all over Guinea Bissau, even several coming all the way from the Bijagos islands! True to ministry there, the time started off with a great testimony to the Glory of God. One of the students had gone to get water in the town of Mansoa and was bitten by what clearly looked like a young Black Mamba Snake.
"Black Mamba snakes [their name comes from the black-ish color of the inside of their mouth] are among the ten most venomous snakes in the world... Without treatment the mortality rate is 100%, the highest among all venomous snakes in the world."

Obviously there was great concern but when the other former students heard they immediately began to pray for him, lay hands on him and believe. And nothing happened.
What a way to start the time together!
Lalas said the worship was so powerful and testimonies were wonderful. What a joy to have technology that I [Wade - SDBR2017 Ride Director and Missionary Founder of the Mansoa Bible Training Center] was able to preach to them live at 10am from South Carolina, and Lalas is over there [in Guinea Bissau] interpreting it while it was 2pm their time, just like old times! He didn't miss a beat. Just as fiery as ever coming from his heart.
This former student, Augusto, is building this church in the remotest of places. No schools, no nothing, just villages that have been bound in witchcraft. He's faced persecution, but has persevered and now a congregation is forming. He is believing by faith they will have enough to finish this building before rainfall. We will of course help in that.
AUGUST 2021

Wonderful reports coming back from Lalas and the students' time of outreach for the school. They traveled from Mansoa in the region of Oio to Cacheu in the region of Cacheu to help a former student of ours that has been laboring in a village near Cache in a very dark and oppressive area filled with witchcraft. What does it look like when the Kingdom of God comes to a place? When God's children are walking in humility, unity, boldness and compassion with a heart to preach the Gospel?
Here's some ways it manifests... in just 7 days...
65 people surrendered their lives to Jesus
The students serving the lost cleaning up their yards and showing them kindness. [Pictured]

The people being free of tormenting dreams and fear at night to dreams from God.
Many healings in bodies.
Demons being driven out.
The place where beer is sold (one of the largest buildings in the village), the owner is so touched he gives it over for church services.
Land given by leadership in the village now for a church building to be built.

The seven days they were there to evangelize the rain (in the midst of the rainy season) didn't interrupt one time their showing the Jesus film or outreach. In fact it was raining all around them one night in villages right near them, but nothing where they were. There was testimony of people calling other friends or family in the villages and it would be pouring down rain, but nothing where they were evangelizing. This news spread and it caused many to fear the Lord and listen to the Gospel and many to give their lives to Him.
When Lalas and the students were leaving, the people were crying and asking when they were coming back and asking them not to go.

This is what it looks like when the Lord comes. How incredibly beautiful and undeniable.
OCTOBER 2021
This is the final week of the 12th class of the Mansoa Discipleship School. [Funds raised from the 2017 South Dakota Bike Ride were used to fund the entire 2021 class] I had the joy of teaching the students for two sessions this last week during their four day fast. You could sense their joy and anticipation of what the Lord was leading them to do after they leave the school, but Lalas said many are sad to go, as this has become such a family / brotherhood and such a sense of home. There were some recent baptisms to celebrate as well.
Paulo [another discipleship leader - like Lalas] also led a recent three day fast and prayer time, and sent me photos and videos. It was a good turn out and there was good fruit for the Glory of God. Praise the Lord, one of our former students will be able to get zinc roofing for his new school that will be used to teach and train and for the proclamation of the Gospel and discipleship in the capital Bissau. I’m hoping to head to Guinea Bissau in December, I will keep you posted.
